My Day in Moose Jaw

Today was one of those rare days when everything turns out so perfectly. I headed to Moose Jaw about 10:30 this morning and it was a pretty uneventful trip but the day was beautiful and no rain. I arrived a bit earlier then I had expected and so checked out a few antique shops while I was there.
The first one is on Main street and almost right next door to the Tunnels of Moose Jaw.  I have been through the tunnels before and they are great fun. My favorite is the one about Al Capone. If you are in Saskatchewan this summer you must see this. Here is a link to their site.

And I picked up an old coffee grinder. The grinder still works perfect but the housing is very rough. Doesn't matter to me I love it anyway.

After looking through this store which turned out to be more trinkets then antiques, I headed over to Darlene's house  to pick up my sewing machine, cause you knew I was gonna buy it lol. She was a very nice lady and showed me all the ins and outs of the machine. I was amazed at the condition of the machine, and so many attachments with it. I will never figure them all out. I love all the beautiful decals that are on this and  in such great shape.

It is dated at 1917 from the serial number (Darlene had done the research) and sews wonderfully. I am absolutely so happy that I have this machine, well worth the time and money to go get it. It took all 3 of us (myself, Darlene and her Husband) to load this in my truck and then I was off on the way home. Got about 5 blocks away and realized that I had forgot the bag of attachments. Good thing I did not get all the way to Weyburn before I realized that. So the 2nd time, on my way home I was looking for the other antique shop on the corner of 9th and Hwy 1. I arrived there to discover that there were approximately 12 buildings of antiques. Heaven!!! I did not purchase very much here except a pair of very politically incorrect salt and pepper shakers. I love those too.

When I was going through Roleau, I saw that the Corner Gas buildings were open so of course I had to stop in there and have a look. You might not be familiar with Corner Gas but the show ran for quite a few years and made Roleau a must stop at place in Sask. AKA Dog River. If you are unfamiliar with the show. So had a great tour of Ruby's and the gas station. Bought a t-shirt, I was being a tourist in Sask today and loving it.

Love this staycation one lol.

Then on my way home, I stopped at the local restaurant and if you are in Sask you will know that almost every establishment here has gambling machines. Well, I felt so great today after my wonderful outing that I tried my luck with 20.00 and wouldn't you know it, I won 200.00. All in all it was a very good day.
So that was my perfect day today. I love long weekends......

Have a great rest of the day...
